Keller ISD Teachers of the Year Honored at Region 11 Ceremony

Keller ISD Teachers of the Year Megan Lockett of Willis Lane Elementary School and Leanne Kaidannek of Fossil Hill Middle School were recognized July 30 at the Education Service Center (ESC) Region 11 Teacher of the Year Awards Ceremony, held at the Renaissance Worthington in Fort Worth. The annual event celebrates outstanding educators from across North Texas for their dedication to students and excellence in teaching.

Lockett received additional honors as one of only eight finalists for the Region 11 Elementary Teacher of the Year award. The distinction recognizes the exceptional quality of her Teacher of the Year application and reflects the meaningful impact she makes in the classroom and school community each day.

Keller ISD is thrilled to continue celebrating the achievements of Lockett and Kaidannek and the positive impact they continue to make in the lives of students every day.

More about the Texas Teacher of the Year Program
The Texas Teacher of the Year program, hosted by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), recognizes exceptional educators from across the state. Each Texas school district may nominate one elementary and one secondary teacher for regional consideration. To advance to the Region 11 level, nominees complete a rigorous application process that includes a professional portfolio highlighting instructional excellence, leadership, and impact both inside and outside the classroom as well as essays describing instructional philosophy, contributions to school culture, community engagement, leadership experiences, and vision for the teaching profession. A panel of former Teachers of the Year, classroom educators, district leaders, and ESC Region 11 staff evaluates the submissions to select the region's finalists.
